LOCAL VET
SURGERY

PRE-OPERATIVE
TESTING

At times your pet may require pre-operative tests. We are well-equipped to perform tests such as Xray, Ultrasonography, and Pre-anaesthetic blood tests in-house. These tests assist our Vets in determining your pet's health status before any surgery is performed. Dependant upon the results, recommendation may be made for Intravenous fluids or other treatment during surgery, or referral to a specialist centre.

SURGICAL
PROCEDURES

The surgical procedures we perform at Caloundra Vet Surgery are:

Desexing

Soft tissue surgery

Dental scale, clean and extractions

Orthopaedic surgery e.g. Cruciate

• Elective surgeries (e.g. removal of lumps, haematomas, biopsies)

PRE & POST
SURGERY CARE

As difficult as it is at times when your loved pet requires surgery, our team at Caloundra Vet ensures that all surgical procedures are fully explained to you prior to any surgical intervention. During your consultation, our vets will explain the procedure required, pre-operative requirements, associated risks, their recommendations for optimum surgical success, surgical and anaesthetic risks and post operative care.

After your pet's surgery, our vet nurses will  call you to let you know how the surgery went and arrange collection of your pet. Our vets and vet nurses will discuss post-operative care requirements on collection of your pet.

EMERGENCY VET
PROCEDURES

If you need the emergency vet, please call our Caloundra Vet nurses on (07) 5492 7997. They can triage your case to fit in with our consultations.

For a 24-hour vet outside of business hours, our phone is automatically diverted to the Animal Emergency Service at Tanawha for treatment.

OUR
COMMITMENT

All vets and vet nurses at Caloundra Veterinary Surgery are encouraged to undertake professional development each year to enhance their skill base. This ensures that our vets keep up with the latest surgical and medical treatments to assist them to give you, the pet owner, the very best in up-to-date care.
