Puppy and kitten vaccinations are recommended between 6 and 8 weeks of age for their first vaccination and all vaccination appointments include a general health check at no extra charge.
& DNA TESTING
It is a Sunshine Coast Council requirement that all cats and dogs to be microchipped and registered. Caloundra Vet recommends that both cats and dogs are microchipped to help Council, vets and the Animal Pet Registers to be able to contact you so that your pet can be returned home, if lost.
Dog DNA Testing
DNA testing on dogs assists you as the pet owner to determine your pet's DNA heritage. This is useful when you wish to check your dog's lineage for any inherited diseases. A consultation with one of our vets for a DNA test provides you with a written report with all results.
Healthy teeth equals a healthy body as infections in the mouth can affect other areas of the body. Bad breath is a sign that not all is right in your pet’s mouth.
There are dental home kits you can purchase from our clinic to help you to clean your dog and cats teeth. Our surgery stocks the very latest in dental dog and cat dry food which you can purchase as a preventative measure to help your dogs teeth from plaque and decay.
Our vets may recommend your pet to have a "scale and clean" with or without teeth extractions from their dental consultation's findings. The Vet will give you a quotation as to the costs associated and outline exactly what will be involved.
A preventative yearly dental health check for your cat or dog at Caloundra Vet, can certainly save you money in the long run and help alleviate your pet from an anaesthetic and teeth extractions.
